Cody Hofsommer has had a passion for knifemaking since he was young. He started learning the art of blacksmithing in 2003, and has hand-forged many knives. His goal is to make a quality piece of art that can also be a practical useful tool. He received his journeyman certification through ABS in 2018. He competed on History Channel's show, Forged in Fire and  was named champion after making a Damascus pattern Spanish Conquistador Sword (season 7 episode 18, aired January 22, 2020).
